Canning Town Festival Success
08 July 2006
The annual Canning Town festival took place at Keir Hardie Park, Canning Town, Newham, east London on Saturday 8 July 2006. The event, now in its second year was co-hosted by London Borough of Newham and London City East Partnerships (LCEP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Regenter Limited, the joint-venture responsible for the refurbishment of over 1,000 local authority homes, and housing, community and neighborhood management of the Canning Town PFI area.
The festival which was attended by people of all ages provided a mixture of fun activities, including an inflatable football pitch, bouncy castle and face painting for the children, whilst adults were able to visit stalls and find out more about health, fitness and the regeneration plans for the wider area.
LCEP marked its first birthday with the occasion, and residents were able to see examples of the work that had been undertaken to date. LCEP also took the opportunity to promote its Youth summer schemes which this year will include a fashion workshop, , a DJing workshop, and drumming and music lessons. These will take place over the month of August.
